Smokie the Bear!! A late entry but an entry nonetheless. I still want to try to figure out how to "finish" my drawings.

Doodling on a new notepad is always fun and that's how i came up with this week's illustration.

I've also included the entire page of doodles I did for that day.

This is me, the goob in the band, being completely and utterly smitten by one of our football players, who had no idea I existed. Then, one day, that same football player came and fixed my computer at work and the rest is history. We've been married almost 12 years and I'm still completely and utterly smitten. awwwwwww, isn't that sugary sweet?

IF-Farm The Uppity Cow

Friday, September 08, 2006

This is a post of an illustration that my 8 year old nephew and I drew last night for the IF topic Safe. We worked on it together and he also came up with the awesome symbol KR that incorporates both of our names. I love having such a wonderful drawing partner!!

A very quick doodle to get me back in the habit of posting every week. I would very much like to move this to "real" paper and add some detail because I really like the idea.

Skyline. . . interesting topic. My ideas always seem wonderful in my head and when i try to get them on paper, they never seem finished. I'll have to keep working at it!

Well, here's Lili again. Here's our little sticky girl with her rocket pop, sweet tea, pepsi and other sugary, gooey delights.

This is a really quick drawing I did for jungle. I haven't felt very inspired lately, but as soon as I heard the word "Jungle", I thought of Wal-mart and all the "animals" and "savages" I run into there.

Do you think Kona's sorry??

This is a little drawing I did of our cat, Kona, who thinks it's his mission in life to push things off the tables, tv trays, chairs and counters. Why? We don't know, but he's very good at it and has NO REMORSE!

This is my drawing of Lili, our Boston Terrier. She is usually rotten and mischevious, but every once in awhile, we see the little angel inside. The sketch in the right-hand corner is not really supposed to be on that side. It was just a doodle. I'm planning to add a little color tonight.

Isn't JIF one of those "good for you fats"??

This is a quick sketch of our little fat girl, Lili, who is a Boston Terrier. One of her favorite treats is the "almost-empty" JIF jar because she knows that Choosy Moms Choose JIF!

Well, here it is. . . .my illustration in color. I'm not completely happy with it and it's the first time I've tried to touch-up or add anything using photoshop. It's an okay attempt and I know it can only go uphill from here (at least I really hope it will). Thanks for looking! -- Karie

Here is a first sketch of my submission for "Under the Sea". I'll be working on it this weekend in order to finalize, color and "water-ize".

On April 28th, more than 7 million sea creatures joined hands, fins and tentacles to form a line that stretched the vast expanse of the sea. This much-hyped mega-event, called -- surprisingly enough -- Hands, Fins & Tentacles Across the Sea, was intended to raise "clams" to fight the ever-growing number of homeless swimming aimlessly through the briny deep, searching high and low for a place to call their own.

Robot

Crazy day at work, but I sketched a little something on the back of some work papers, thus the "matrix" looking junk behind. Anyone who has watched Jimmy Neutron has probably seen Bro-Bot. This is just a simple, simple version of my take on that.

Spring

I'm woefully delinquent in posting Spring for Illustration Friday, but here she is in all her glory. I still haven't finalized her arms and wings but I'll post her in her final beauty when she's done.

I've finally decided to start a blog and the reason is that I've subscribed to Illustration Friday and wanted to be able to post a few of my drawings. It's funny about this first one because I started it while I was waiting for my sister and nephew to arrive at our favorite sushi restaurant for lunch. So I began my sketch on the back of a sushi menu and when my 7 year old nephew came in, he thought it would be fun for he and I to create one together, so here is our first effort at Illustration Friday.
